Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida

Tinker Ma is currently engaged to provide the architectural and interior design services for the Tennessee College of Applied Technology’s new Diesel Technology, Lineman Training, and Truck Driving facilities in Oneida, TN. The new facility will provide a physical hub to expand on current programs and create spaces for students to gain practical experience as well as simulation training and classroom instruction.

Much like the new facilities at TCAT Livingston, the building and associated site elements will include site improvements, classrooms, offices, tool storage, and areas for simulator training and testing. The facilities will also encompass large pull-in and pull-through truck bays and shaded outdoor spaces serving as break areas. The building will also consist of masonry cavity walls with brick veneer and will make use of many large windows and glass overhead doors. Energy-efficient design elements such as a white roof, a thoughtful insulation scheme, high-volume fans, radiant heaters, and LED lighting with daylight and occupant sensors will save the TCAT campus substantial energy costs over the life of the building.
