Tinker Ma principal Craig Peavy led the project owners through a multi-faceted discovery process on The Troy Building. The initial concept for the design utilized approximately 60% of the site and included surface parking. It became apparent that it would be important to maximize the building size in an effort to increase leasable area and ultimately revenue.
The resulting project is a strong urban infill design that takes advantage of the entire site. The Troy is a four-story wood-frame building with a ground-floor restaurant and retail space, an apartment for one of the owners, and office space on the upper floors. The project adheres to Chattanooga’s Form-Based Code.
