Sustainable Project of the Year
A 36,203 square foot workforce development center jointly developed by The Associated General Contractors and TCAT/CSCC focusing solely on the construction industry. Artech worked directly with TCAT personnel developing the program and design of this facility. There are four labs, each connected to a classroom. Each lab focuses on different trades and aspects of construction with one “high bay” and outdoor bay. There is a “construction yard” for various outdoor construction activities. The facility also houses meeting space for students, faculty, and the public. The building is designed to have Earthcraft Light Commercial Platinum Certification and to be carbon net zero. This project is an adaptive re-use of an old elementary school.
