Tinker Ma and the owners of Frazier Five and Dime collaborated to create a fresh upscale environment along the Northshore in Chattanooga. The space had previously been home to several different restaurants and had an established bar area in the front of the space with a large dining room flowing to the back of the space. The design reworks the spaces to improve the function and flow, as well as create multiple types of environments for any occasion.

In the bar area, the design includes a horseshoe bar in the middle of the space with three integrated tables, each seating four customers along the front of the bar to allow easy service from bar staff. A thin standing-height bar lines the front wall to provide comfortable space for those enjoying a drink while awaiting their table or just enjoying the weather when the large glass garage doors are open to the street.

The design makes the large dining room feel more intimate. A chef’s bar and a mid-height wall that separates the restroom corridor help bring the volume of the space down to a comfortable scale. Darker finishes, selected by the Tinker Ma Interiors team, also helps ground the space. New rear garage doors and an outdoor deck bring the light back in and offer a comfortable dining experience in milder temperatures.
