10 North is urban apartment living at its best. The design of this $14 million mixed-use development takes advantage of the incredible park and urban views and provides easy access to numerous restaurants and retailers on the popular North Shore.
Situated on the busy corner of Cherokee Boulevard and Manufacturers Road, the building backs up to Renaissance Park, a popular and heavily used urban park. 10 North offered the team a great design opportunity as its high-profile site was one of the last remaining buildable sites of its size in the North Shore area.
The six street-level retail spaces have 25-foot-wide storefronts to mimic the existing neighborhood storefronts. The sidewalk alternates in depth from building to street edge in roughly 25-foot increments to create small vestibules of space for pedestrians to gather.
The four floors above the retail level contain 84 apartments featuring a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units. A change of exterior building material highlights these floors. The change also helps to minimize visually the building height in keeping with the neighborhood.
