The McLemore Clubhouse
Rising Fawn, GA
As the first new community building at McLemore, The Clubhouse was designed to be the central gathering place. Whether for pragmatic or fanciful reasons, The Clubhouse serves as a nexus of community, a tool of practicality, and a celebration of place and time. The design inspiration draws heavily on its location overlooking McLemore Cove, the history of the area, and the natural materials of the region. The first building in what has become a village center for the community, The Clubhouse houses a restaurant/bar offering a place for people to gather, a pro shop and locker rooms for players of the world class golf course. Built from stone and heavy timber, the architecture embodies the notion of history and permanence with a heavy emphasis on views and connections to the outdoors.
The golf course has been nominated as “Best New Course of the Year 2020” by Golf Digest and lays claim to the best finishing hole. There is also a 6-hole short course both of which were designed by Rees Jones and Bill Bergin.
The gated residential community will offer single family homes, townhomes and short-term rentals.
In and around the resort property are miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, bouldering and rock climbing, scenic waterfalls and botanical reserves; including Cloudland Canyon State Park just a short drive away.
